Ginger "The Movie Star" is Famous!!!

My precious puppy had found her name when the perfect combination of 5 letters not only made a play of words regarding her coloring and personality, but also her mother's status!
Drum roll, please!
Introducing... GINGER "THE MOVIE STAR"!!! (for any of you who do not follow me on social media).

I have bragged and doted on this bundle of love and kisses since the moment I brought her home from the Humane Society. She is a VERY featured regular on my social streams. I must say, I wasn't really sure what she would grow up to be... (like many parents)! She was a rescue and a very small puppy when she landed in my lap, but she's a looker and obviously I am not the only one inspired by her poise and regal look! She has enjoyed a few magazine moments as a glamour girl! These photos taken by my friend, Jennifer Wakefield, captured Ginger around 1.5 years old when we were living in Greenville, SC.

The previous "Mommy Moment" was sponsored by my social media prowess over the last few months.
Henri Bendel's long time talented artist, IZAK... (who captures so many NYC appropriate themes in his artwork) began to feature two "familiar faces" in his drawings! I can only dream that we were seen around Manhattan and perhaps we were the inspiration to his work!
The first time I really recognized both "Ginger and myself" was over the Christmas holiday when this image was posted about "Boxing Day" shopping at Henri Bendel!

Another one came just yesterday in the wake of the media "flurry" around winter storm #JUNO.

With that... I would like to leave you with a Ginger "The Movie Star" inspired gallery thanks to IZAK and his amazing creative hand for the one and only Henri Bendel, NYC!

I arrived on Thursday afternoon for a jam-packed tour of one of the most impressive show rooms I've ever seen. Meeting the locals and the visitors who oooh'd and aaah'd over each rim, leather seat, engine, tire, chrome lift bar, hemi, you name it... I was there with #NashTV and we are here now to take you behind the scenes with video and photos galore!

it was definitely the place to be this weekend. So thrilled to have been there to bring you the updates!

I never thought I would be so connected to cars ever in my life. Don't get me wrong, I have always enjoyed a hot sports car, remember watching some auto auctions in my lifetime, and my grandfather and uncle have really cool older model cars.
But thanks to many wonderful clients, like FAIRWAY FORD Lincoln, & Subaru, I have found my way around on TV screens regionally and nationally talking about cars and the relationships we have with them.

If it's the sports car and a need for speed, or the new SUV for a growing family, the truck for the sports guy and outdoorsman, or a first 4-door good gas mileage car for a college student... you can find what you need... when you need it... #LOCAL!

Walk your Red Carpets... but Remember your sidewalks.

We've all tuned into The Golden Globes, SAG Awards, The Grammy's are coming up on February 8th (I'll be there LIVE), and The Academy Awards is on February 22nd just to name a few on the horizon. The music related awards shows I will attend again after having the privilege of hosting fan zones and red carpet moments in 2014 are certainly not lost on me! I'm so excited for what 2015 has to offer! It's been nothing short of mind blowing to see how relationships with new friends, music professionals, and well-known artists have developed for me in a short 13 months in Music City.

Perfect example. Today I ran into @coleswindell at the airport. I was reminded that not only do I know who he is, but he knew me. He came up to me while I was browsing the Hudson Bookstore and said hello... TO ME!

@LukeBryanOnline is the same way. I have had the opportunity to sit behind him on a flight to the ACM Awards, interview him on many red carpets, and just run into him in town and he always sure to speak and acknowledge me. It's so encouraging to see the relationships grow and blossom with people from Nashville. They genuinely share a humble and hospitable spirit and are very willing to remember you and what you're doing and in the same vein, remember where they came from as well and who supports them.

In the spirit of glitz & glam... and the fact that #NASHTV launches officially on 01/26... here are some video clips and photos from my Red Carpet moments thus far! I am so grateful for the good things in my life. God has been blessing me and I have enjoyed reflecting and counting ALL the sidewalks that have led to these red carpet moments!

fun in the sun!

Screen Shot 2015-01-13 at 9.53.13 PM
This time of year, (just about everywhere) the skies are gray, rainy, snowy... hardly motivating or energizing.
With those vibes... we could all use a little fun in the sun!

I received a hot-off-the-press copy of the "Spring 2015 Look Book" from Escapada Living this week and had to share some photos from my amazing trip to Mexico!

Screen Shot 2015-01-13 at 9.49.45 PMA few weeks before Christmas, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Tulum, Mexico to shoot an amazing resort wear campaign with @escapadaliving - a company that is Southern born and bred right in Charleston, SC, but is proudly found in thousands of resort wear stores and boutiques nationwide! Here are some of the shots we captured in the sand and sun!

Perfectly Peppered Pappardelle Pasta

IMG_5830I have been out of town for the Holidays for almost 2.5 weeks... I got back to Nashville and realized how sad my fridge looked last night... I basically ate hummus with a spoon!
SO... I stopped by my favorite place today to rectify that situation - Trader Joe's... It. Was. A. ZOO! I braved the lines and the picked-over shelves in order to grab a few essentials plus a few fun items to try this week.

Today was sunny, but only the high of 30 or so and pasta just sounded so yummy.
I decided to try TJ's Lemon Pepper Pappardelle Pasta. I had a great bottle of Theros Olive Oil from my foodie friend Anna and it's been begging to be used! I was actually on the phone with Anna when I began the prep process for tonight.

Anna asked if I had any bacon or pancetta on hand... UM, don't I always (she taught me so well)! I decided to sauté (in my NEW Emeril sauce pan) about a 1/3 of the package of pancetta, 2 cloves of chopped garlic, salt & pepper, 1/4 chopped red onion, 1/2 cup chopped baby bella mushrooms, and the juice of 1/2 a Meyer lemon. LOW heat is key (as my brother, Adam, aka: another closeted chef) likes to remind me. He would be happy to know that I DID NOT burn or sear any grime to my new stainless steel pieces of cookware!

In another pot I began boiling 3-4 quarts of water for the package of pasta adding a splash of EVOO (NOT the Theros - as it's only recommended for drizzling as a flavorful EVOO, not heating).

The pasta was done in no time as was the sauté pan. I drained and rinsed the pasta and put it in a stainless bowl and topped with the sautéed ingredients and one bunch of chopped fresh basil and tossed with the Theros EVOO.

I grabbed my "BLATE" as I like to call it ... some sort of Bowl/Plate combo and plated a serving topping it with Pecorino Romano cheese shavings, Himalayan sea salt & cracked pepper, and a fine drizzle of TJ's Balsamic Glaze - with which I love to accent everything. You should try it. You're welcome.

Devine. It's pasta. It's LIGHT and lemon-y and very much a dish that leaves you feeling satisfied, but not heavy and too full.
Total calories... prob. 490 with the portion I consumed.
Total time... 30 min. (and i was on the phone and sort of watching The Bachelor)
If you want pasta... EAT IT. So many of my girlfriends talk in passing, "OMG... like, the last time I had pasta was like, NEVERago." UM... It's not just Chef Boyardee that knows what's up... just saying!

Create your Kitchen! Get satisfied... life's too short to eat bad food.
