The #ACMAwards50 #RedCarpetRadio Recap with EGP!

Where do I even begin??? WOW!

What a weekend at the 50th Annual ACM Awards in Dallas, TX! The entire weekend was a whirlwind of interviews, fashion, photos, and of course, MUSIC. The Country Music community was all in one spot celebrating the history of this legendary awards show and THE BIGGEST artists of all time were doing it in Texas size style!

The trip for me began on Thursday afternoon. I left Nashville after work on NASH FM and flew to DFW. Loved sharing a plane with some of music city's finest... @RaeLynnOfficial, @DJ_Shawn_Parr, and several industry pros from Warner Music, BMI, CMA, and Universal Music. I had gotten the scoop from RaeLynn about her killer shoes and dress for #redcarpetradio before we even got our bags from baggage claim! I arrived at the Sheraton Hotel in Arlington where I was presented with official ACM hotel keys and a rundown of shuttles and walking to / from the arena, ballpark, convention center, and hotel.

I have to give a shout out for my #OOTD outfit of the Day #redcarpetradio look day 1 goes to @hampdenclothing for my awesome silk and linen Theory pants and Loeffler Randall sandals. Top is from Forever 21, and of course, I was sporting Lily & Laura Bracelets. Had no clue I would color coordinate so well with the red carpet... HA!

What's the first thing you do in Texas when you're hungry? FIND AUTHENTIC TEX MEX! DONE... Shawn Parr and Elaina Smith and I were on our way to Mariano's Mexican Restaurant with YELP recommendations galore and high hopes for some killer guac! Well, Mariano delivered... as did Thomas Rhett - we had listened to the new single, #CrashandBurn in the car on the way into the restaurant and the song was totally stuck in our heads during dinner... so much so that we were singing out loud in between bites of queso! So, OBVI we had to make this video with a shout out to one of our favorite Country crooners!

DAY 2 #RedCarpetRadio

Outfit of the day... #OOTD
Thanks to Custard Boutique in Greenville, SC for my Silver Spur Lounge T-Shirt! (Dierks Bentley approved - #BTW)
Hampden Clothing delivered again with a polka dot fly-away fluid silk "pants/skirt" combo by Thakoon. Add a LUCKY Brand belt and Pour La Victoire suede booties... you're good to go!

This was a fab look combining both casual comfort, killer style, all the while in a bit of a #country vibe! LOVED IT!

First things first... THE OFFICIAL PRESS CONFERENCE with these goofballs... @lukebryanofficial & @blakeshelton - is there a better way to start your day??? I think NOT! Take a listen. Luke and Blake talk about the pressures of hosting duties for Country's biggest night in music!

DAY 3 - #RedCarpet Radio
IT'S FINALLY TIME... #RedCarpetRadio interviews begin... All day Friday and Saturday prior to awards shows, artists show up to a ball room filled with media outlets for private 4-6 minute interviews with each station including all radio, TV, and photographers!

This #OOTD is poppin' with color and it's about time... Spring is here! Though I'm not much for overdoing a floral theme, this combo is still edgy and structured with the athletic inspired neck band silk top from Nordstrom
Tayna Taylor skirt from @hampdenclothing  #wearinghampden.
Shoes are B&W done to the max and from ZARA!

REBA was by far my favorite artist to sit down with and her FULL interview will be coming soon - all about style through the decades as she was the recipient of the ACM Milestone Award for her amazing career as the "Queen of Country."

Reba has sold more than 30 million albums including her film, Broadway and TV career roles. She has won 13 ACM Awards - 7 for Female Vocalist of the Year. She was also the recipient of the Career Achievement Award, the 40th Anniversary Milestone Award and the Home Depot Humanitarian Award, and one Entertainer of the Year trophy.

Here's a bit of a recap on what went down over the weekend with RED CARPET RADIO!

LOVED talking with David Yurman on Saturday.
He is the official designer of this year's ACM MILESTONE AWARD
trophies which include his signature black diamonds with mixed metal patterns!

The NASH Cast... being... well, US.

Day 4 #OOTD - #wearinghampden skirt by ALC and @blush_boutiques crop top with @zara shoes! I got LOTS of compliments on this outfit. It's totally doable to rock multiple patterns of the same color. Glad I was willing to try this fashion look!

I love hanging out in the #FANZONE during the Red Carpet arrivals! FANS are everything to Country artists. There is SO much energy and excitement being with the people who support these musicians day in and day out. I feel like I get a sneak peek into their lives by hearing their stories and experiencing the autograph requests, selfies, and sheer pandemonium on the sidelines of #redcarpetradio!

Always love running into my fellow cast members @blairgarner @terriclarkmusic & @chuckwicksmusic at these VIP events. It is rather impressive... we all clean up nicely after 4am radio show time!

THE couple of the night... Mr. Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood. Fun moment of the night - right after Garth looked at my phone for a photo, he just kind of pointed in a circle to his face and then pointed at me and said, "BEAUTIFUL!" HA! He's seen me without much of a face during early morning interviews, so the @perfectface and lashes were probably a bit of a shock and awe factor!

SO glad I can be my own glam squad for these events!
Remember ladies... "It's not HOW MUCH make-up you use... it's using the RIGHT make-up in the RIGHT places!"

After an artist receives an award they are escorted off the stage to media rooms to do interviews about receiving their award. We literally get their FIRST reaction to the BIG WIN! Elaina Smith from #nashnightslive and I sat down with Lee Brice, Brooks & Dunn, Cole Swindell, Brett Eldredge, and REBA to talk about the surreal moments of the night!

Can't wait to bring you more behind the scenes experiences from the BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS... they're right around the corner!

Behind the Scenes #NashCountry Weekly

Hey Friends!!!

I have been all over the place with recent TV interviews and press with NASH CountryWeekly so I wanted to share some of the behind the scenes moments of the last few weeks!

It is so much fun to live in Nashville - it truly is "MUSIC CITY" - there is always something going on around town. I had a chance to celebrate some Number 1 Parties and a really amazing songwriter's festival!

Hanging out with Chuck Wicks, Thomas Rhett, & Frankie Ballard isn't too hard of a job either! Hope you enjoy and maybe you'll learn something new about one of your favorite artists!

Chuck Wicks Participates in 2015 Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival

America’s Morning Show’s very own co-host Chuck Wicksparticipated in the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival showcase held at B.B. King’s Blues Club in downtown Music City on Friday night (March 27).
Chuck was joined by fellow songwriters Ben Cooper, Matt Jenkins and Gordon Kennedy for the NASH FM 103.3-sponsored writers’ round.
Ben has written songs for Ricky Skaggs and Olivia Newton-John, and Matt is best known for co-writing hits like Keith Urban’s “Cop Car” and Dustin Lynch's “Where It’s At (Yep, Yep).”
Gordon, a multi-Grammy-winning songwriter and producer, is perhaps most recognized for co-writing Eric Clapton’s chart-topper “Change the World.”
NASH’s Erika Grace Powell, on behalf of Country Weekly, set out to bring you a video blog covering the behind-the-scenes action of the 23rd Annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival.
You never know what song you might hear for the first time at a bar in Nashville that might soon come streaming over the radio.

Thomas Rhett Talks “Make Me Wanna,” Pop Inspirations Behind “Crash and Burn”

Thomas Rhett returned to the same spot where he filmed the “Make Me Wanna” video—Nashville’s Peter Nappi studio—on Thursday, April 9, to celebrate its No. 1 success. The milestone actually made Thomas Rhett the first solo male artist to chart three consecutive Billboard No. 1 hits from a debut album in more than 20 years, a stat he couldn’t believe.
Nash’s entertainment correspondent, Erika Grace Powell, caught up with Thomas Rhett at the party to talk about the song’s success and how he returned to some of his favorite childhood music for his new single, “Crash and Burn.” In addition to his current influences of Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Aloe Blacc and Ed Sheeran, Thomas Rhett says he dug back through his favorite tunes from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s to help drive the sound of the new single.
Thomas Rhett is currently nominated alongside Sam Hunt and Cole Swindell for New Artist of the Year at the 50th Annual ACM Awards, airing live on Sunday, April 19, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

Frankie Ballard’s “Sunshine & Whiskey” Toasted at Nashville’s City Winery

There may not have been any whiskey barrels being tapped, but there was plenty of wine flowing at a party toasting Frankie Ballard’s recent No. 1 single “Sunshine & Whiskey.”
Frankie and the song’s co-writers, Jaren Johnston and Luke Laird, mingled with a music industry VIP crowd at Nashville’s hip City Winery before being presented with plaques and medallions honoring their achievement. The accomplishment marks the second No. 1 single from Frankie’s sophomore album, Sunshine & Whiskey, but it was the first No. 1 party for Frankie’s parents, who were unable to make the celebration for “Helluva Life” because his sister was preparing for the birth of her first child.
Congratulations to Frankie, Jaren, Luke and the Warner Bros. team.

*Thanks to my friend, Chris Borchetta for my new #NASH #EGPStyle photo!*

It is WAY past time for another blog... SORRY I was MIA for a bit! Here's a little about how I've been LIVIN' & LOVIN' #NASHville!

It's the beginning of award show season and that has me firing on all cylinders to say the least!

I leave for Dallas, TX on Thursday for the 50th Annual ACM Award Show weekend and that has me in outfit planning and suitcase packing mode. #whoareyouwearing ? You know the drill! I am going to be ready for #redcarpetradio in a real way this year! Cannot wait! Stay tuned to my instagram and socials for all things #ACMAwards!!! Lots of amazing designers and outfit combos to share... courtesy of @hampedclothing I'll be dressed to the 9's #wearinghampden!

Speaking of what to wear... I got a little bit of time with my sister, Emily yesterday afternoon while she was visiting Nashville for the day with her husband. We hit up Hillsboro Village for some tea lattes @bongohotandcold.   While we were there, it started raining so we decided to make our way in and out of some cute stores down 21st Ave. Our first stop was #tennesseechicI knew they carried a variety of t-shirts by Nashville based company - Project615

I wanted to see if they had anything new, so Emily and I made a stop. That's when I found my new raglan #CashIsKing shirt... obviously referencing THE Johnny Cash with his silhouette  prominently on the front! I love it! Wanted to share with you what Project 615 is all about and also where you can get some bomb country tshirts and tanks in time for summer fun!

"Project 615 operates as a full service custom t-shirt, apparel & screen printing company. We believe in empowering and transforming the formerly homeless and turning them into better citizens of society and for God's Kingdom. Project 615 employees men from Set Free ministries where we train them and give them the skill of t-shirt making/screen printing."

I love that Project615 gives back in such a big way to Nashville's homeless community. This charity does a beautiful job not only feeding fish, but teaching the homeless and needy HOW to fish by providing job training, cultivating skill sets, and preparing them for a new future. They work to get individuals to a place of sobriety and off the streets of music city by offering an opportunity learn Christian teaching and hear the gospel - this is HUGE! What an impact they are making for Kingdom business!

I have been sporting some of their looks since last summer...

After Tennessee Chic, we made our way to The Impeccable Pig !

My newest favorite accessory is a bit of a throwback to the 90's.
I used to make little seed-bead bracelets, keychains, and zipper pulls during recess, or after I was finished with my "seat work" during school! These little gems are WAYYYYY more professional (thank goodness!) And if you haven't fallen in love with Lily & Laura already... glad I could help!

Our  handmade Lily and Laura® glass beaded bracelets roll over any hand.  Laura and our  women artists in Nepal custom design these creations which are handcrafted in the Kathmandu Valley.  We use the finest glass beads in the world from Matsuno Glass Bead company in Japan.  Our business focus is to pay more than fair trade wages to our  artisans in Nepal thereby improving the quality of their lives while providing you with beautiful, top quality, handcrafted glass beaded bracelets.  We currently have a large fabulous and colorful  inventory from which to custom pick your orders based upon your color preferences.  We are shipping within one business day of receiving orders.  If you are an individual who cannot locate Lily and Laura® bracelets in your area, please have your favorite boutique contact us. Thank you for your support!

Emily and I both chose a killer arm party from these one of a kind bracelets!

Can't wait to rock them this weekend in Dallas!

Hope you guys all have an awesome week! It's almost the 1/2 way mark! I'm off to bed!
